Ten Thousand Villages Partner!
We are excited to announce that the Macon Ecumenical Book Store at St. Francis has partnered with Ten Thousand Villages. The mission of Ten Thousand Villages is to create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long term fair trading relationships.
The words, stories, long term, fair trading, relationships, distinguish the work and differentiate Ten Thousand Villages from other mainstream retailers. Most retail environments do not attempt to, and cannot, tell the story behind the product, nor do they have long term relationships with the people that make product.
We have a large selection of gifts, accessories and books for your shopping pleasure.
Hope to see you soon.
Please stop in for good conversation, terrific books and wonderful gift items.
Macon
Ecumenical Bookstore carries books that would be of interest to
interfaith seekers, Unitarians, Methodists, Presbyterians (USA),
Methodists, Lutherans (ELCA), Roman Catholics, Orthodox Catholics,
Cooperative Baptists, and others. The reading needs of a few other
denominations are well met by the older Christian bookstores in
Macon; so we have focused on enriching the spirituality of those
who had nowhere in Macon to get books. As one pastor of another
church asked, “Where in Macon can you find books by Henri Nouwen?”
The answer is now, “At the Macon Ecumenical Bookstore.”

The Macon Ecumenical Bookstore is located at St.
Francis Episcopal Church. The store operates on a non-profit basis. No proceeds
from sales go to any of the churches. Our goal is to make available
in Macon spiritual and religious books which otherwise would be
completely unavailable or hard to find at a big chain bookstore.
We also carry a supply of jewelry and gift items. To contact the Bookstore volunteers, Click Here.
